On July 11, 2017, KACE’s New York Grassroots Interns invited Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (NY-25) to KACE’s New York Office. As the youngest woman in the state legislature and the first woman ever to represent the 25th District, Assemblywoman Rozic has supported KACE’s program over the years and has shown tremendous support for the Korean American community.

At the meeting, Assemblywoman Rozic emphasized the importance of civic engagement and highlighted the contributions of the Korean American community in her district. Additionally, KACE interns were provided the opportunity to ask the Assemblywoman questions on various issues regarding their community and engage in an insightful dialogue. The Assemblywoman further engaged in the conversation by specifying the different ways in which students can take action in their local municipalities.

This meeting was organized to educate the Grassroots interns on the various functions and responsibilities of local elected officials.
