On July 11, 2017, KACE’s New York Grassroots Interns invited New York Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (NY-26) to KACE’s New York office, in order to learn more in-depth about a career in public service. Assemblyman Edward Braunstein has shown support for KACE’s Grassroots Internship Program over the years through meetings with previous interns and has attended the 2015 KACE annual gala.

At the meeting, Assemblyman Braunstein shared with the interns on the value of community engagement and his appreciation for our interns’ efforts in engaging the Korean American community through their daily voter registration drives. The students also conveyed their appreciation of his contributions to the Korean American community, specifically for his support for the Korean American community in his district.

Assemblyman Braunstein emphasized the importance of eliciting higher voter participation from the Korean American communities in the upcoming primary for NYS Senate and Assembly.

The upcoming primary for NYS State and Assembly will be taking place on September 12, 2017 with voter registration deadline set on August 18, 2017.
