NYC Board of Election is looking for poll workers capable of Korean interpretation for the 2016 elections. There will be a total of 4 elections in NYC this year:

  • Tuesday, April 19th – Presidential Primary Election
  • Tuesday, June 28th – Federal Primary Election
  • Tuesday, September 13th – State & Local Primary Election
  • Tuesday, November 8th – General (Presidential) Election

Qualifications:

  • must be over 18 years old
  • green card holder or U.S. citizen
  • must be fluent in Korean and English communication

Poll workers are asked to work from 5:30am to 9pm on each election day with the compensation of $200. Responsibilities and duties include interpreting other poll workers’ instructions into Korean and guiding Korean-speaking voters at the poll site.

Applicants must pass a test first, after which they take an education session (compensation for training is $25) for 3 hours on basic election process and responsibilities of poll workers.
