Continuing our college student program “KAGC U,” we hosted voter registration drives with Emory KUSA and Georgia Tech KUSA on February 24th, 2016.

Despite the weather conditions, student leaders were able to assist over 30 people register to vote, as well as 80+ inquiries on the Emory and Georgia Tech campuses.

In the evening, we held an open conversation with Professor Joseph Bankoff, Chair of Georgia Tech’s School of International Affairs on the importance of civic engagement and community participation. He also emphasized that students should share their thoughts and opinions more, as the first step of developing their leadership and organization.

The offices of Congressman Rob Woodall (R, GA-7) and Congressman Hank Johnson (D, GA-4) also expressed their remarks to encourage the students to continue their civic engagement efforts.

This event “KAGC U Atlanta” was the second in the series of several on-campus events this semester. We thank all the students’ hard work in their outreach efforts and look forward to collaborating on civic engagement initiatives.
