KACE led the “8080 Campaign” for voter registration today on May 15th at Chodae Community Church in New Jersey. This was an effort to encourage the active participation of Korean Americans in the upcoming elections, before voter registration comes to a close on May 17th. Eunrim Park, president of the Korean-American Association of New Jersey, and Pastor Kyusam Han joined KACE for the campaign.

New Jersey primary elections will be held on June 7 th , and the last day of voter registration is Tuesday, May 17th . Voting rights in the primary elections belong to voters who are party members. A party affiliation is needed in order to vote in the primary election, but New Jersey election laws allow voters to change their party affiliation at the polls on the day of the election. As such, KACE would like to urge the participation of voters who did not declare their party affiliation when they registered.

The 8080 Campaign is an year-round public campaign that aims for a Korean American voter registration rate of 80% and a voter turnout of 80%. Any questions related to voter registration or the election process are welcome year-round at the KACE Voter’s Hot Line (347 766-5223).
