On June 20th, 2014, Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE) held its second annual Alumni Night along with the award ceremony for its first Scholarship Contest at Santander Bank.

During the event, KACE interns from both the past and present shared their experiences and ideas. One of the former interns, Cindy Park (Boston College) told the interns that “Working as an intern at KACE was one of the best experiences of my life. It might be hard to realize its importance now; but when you look back later on, you will be proud of how much you did and be glad that you were able to take part in such a wonderful program.”

This year’s Alumni Night was also accompanied by the award ceremony for KACE’s first annual Scholarship Contest. The participants of the Scholarship Contest were asked to create a comprehensive plan for the empowerment of Korean American community, and present their work at Alumni Night, The winners of the contest were Rachel Chaewon Kim (Babson College) and Jungsuh Kim (Fordham University).

The event was concluded with closing statement from KACE President Dongchan Kim. President Kim urged the interns to always remember what they have learned during their time in KACE, and continue to work for the betterment of society.
