On March 24th, 2013, Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE) visited the Korean Presbyterian Church of New Jersey to hold a voter registration drive and the “Preserve Family-Sponsored Immigration” petition campaign. Korean Americans who participated in the petitioning campaign stated that they expected a comprehensive immigration reform, but they were surprised to hear that a measure to limit family-sponsored immigration was in negotiation. Some of the Korean Americans that were preparing to invite their family members became concerned about the Senate’s plan.

KACE registered 16 new voters and collected 4 vote-by-mail applications along with 129 petitions.
