Please join us for a reception honoring the Harriet & Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives, and Korean American Civic Empowerment in light of the recent adoption of a New York State Assembly resolution (K00578) and a Senate Resolution (J2244-2013) honoring the two organizations and its interns.

Resolution K00578, introduced by Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, co-sponsored by Assemblyman David Weprin, and signed by 37 other Assembly members, this resolution seeks to honor the Kupferberg Holocaust Center, the Korean American Civic Empowerment, and nine student interns who participated in the two organizations’ Asian Historic Justice Internship Program on their work on the behalf of Comfort Women.

The resolution J2244-2013 is a joint resolution sponsored by Senator Toby Ann Stavisky in the State Senate, adopted a day after.

The two organizations created an educational internship program at the Queensborough Community College to teach college students about the injustices and atrocities brought upon the Asian population during World War II.

To celebrate this occasion, New York State Assemblyman Edward Braunstein will be in attendance as well as other local legislators that not only sponsored the resolution but offered tremendous support to the internship program and its interns. The reception will be a great opportunity to hear about how the internship program affected the lives of the interns, and how they were motivated to share the Comfort Women survivors’ stories.

The reception will be held on 2PM, Wednesday, June 26th, 2013, at the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center & Archives (222-05 56th Ave. Bayside, NY 11364).

Please join us for this special reception. To RSVP or receive more information, please contact KACE at info@kace.org or 718-961-4117.
