On April 12th, the leaders of Korean American Voice, a Chicago-based Korean American organization, visited the Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE). President Jong Hwa Jung, Board Chairwoman Jinhwa Suh, Advisory Board Chairman Jongduk Kim, and Vice President Sik Son were present.

Although the two organizations operate in different areas of the United States, KACE and Korean American Voice have agreed to cooperate closely to further develop the Korean American community.

For this purpose, the two organizations came to agreement on two crucial details:

– Share crucial knowledge to politically empower the Korean American community, and

– Cooperate closely on the “comfort women” issue in the United States.

The Korean American community in the United States is making great progress in their own areas. However, their achievements are isolated in their own localities and are not being spread to other places in the country. The two organizations agreed to tackle this problem.

Also, KACE has agreed to advise Korean American Voice in their effort to enact a “Comfort women” resolution and erect a memorial.
