Democratic Candidates for NJ Governor & Lt. Governor visited KACE.

On September 14-15, 2013, Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE) held its 8080 Campaign at the 2013 New Jersey Chuseok Festival at New Overpeck Park. As the general election draws near, more Korean Americans expressed interest in voting and several candidates for state and local positions visited KACE’s booth and asked for support. On the 14th, the Democratic candidates for governor and lieutenant governorship in New Jersey visited KACE. On the 15th, various candidates for the Bergen County Freeholder positions and the State legislature visited KACE.

During these two days of campaigning, about 30 new voter registrations were collected and about 100 campaign pamphlets were distributed to the visitors.

The next election in New Jersey will be held on October 16. This is a special election that was created to fill the late Senator Frank Lautenberg’s vacant seat. One must register to vote by September 25 to vote in this election.

In addition, the general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5th. The deadline to register for this election is October 10.
