On June 14th 2012, KACE has sent faxes to the entire New York City Council to urge support for election related bills.

As of now, 6 bills have been established but city council members have to support them.

The following is the content of the bills that are being campaigned with the Citizens' Union:

Intro 613 requires email notifications of election dates, registration deadlines and sample ballots to registered voters who voluntarily sign up for such updates.

Intro 721 establishes a poll worker program that will give incentives to municipal employees to work on Election Day when there are shortages of poll workers assigned by District Leaders in order to enhance the pool of competent and able poll workers

Intro 728 requires voter registration forms to be provided to parents enrolling children in school.

Intro 760 requires the City Board of Elections to report for particular city agencies the number of New Yorkers who completed voter registration forms while seeking city services.

Intro 769 expands the City’s Voter Guide to include more city races and state and federal elections so voters are more informed about all contests on the ballot

Intro 778 requires the City Board of Elections (the Board) to report data required by the Mayor's Management Report to the City Council. This will better measure the Board's performance against key metrics for evaluating its administration of elections.

Support from council members are needed in order to pass the 6 bills stated above.
