On Thursday, July 29th, Kathleen Donovan, the Bergen County Clerk visited the New Jersey office of Korean Voters’ Center and spent time with the interns.  On this day, the interns were able to ask questions to Kathleen Donovan about local government and administration works.

  The New Jersey office’s intern coordinator, Brian Park, introduced Kathleen Donovan that she is the first New Jersey administrative politician, followed by County Clerk Donovan’s own introduction in her roles in administrative position and works related to Korean-American. Also, as the first Bergen County’s woman politician, County Clerk Donovan told the interns about many hardships and experiences she encountered, and gave advice and encouragements to the Korean-American students that were interested in politics.

 

  With the Korean Voters’ Center, who cooperated in translating the voters’ registration form on County Clerk Donovan’s previous term, they supported justification to the general assembly, and are translating many administrative documents into Korean.

 On this day, in interest of intern students’ activeness, Korean American’s Association of Fort Lee, President Andrew Kim attended the meeting and requested County Clerk Donovan’s attendance in Presidential Debate with Bergen county Administrator Denis McNerney. County Clerk Donovan promised to attend the debate.

 

  Lastly, County Clerk Donovan revealed that her goal was to Challenge the Bergen County’s Administrator position as she showed her aspiration, and requested Korean-American communities’ interest and support.
